The Great Figure

Among the rain
and lights
I saw the figure 5
in gold
on a red
firetruck
moving
tense
unheeded
to gong clangs
siren howls
and wheels rumbling
through the dark city.

This is a painting inspired by a William Carlos Williams poem, “The Great Figure.” This is one of 3 inspired paintings I did last month…..the other two will be posted soon.
