Posted on May 23, 2011November 21, 2017 by Ginnefine

Suicide’s Note
By Langston Hughes

 The calm,
 Cool face of the river
 Asked me for a kiss.
Langston’s Note – Acrylic on Canvas 20×16
This painting was inspired by Langston Hughes’ poem “Suicide’s Note.” The concept was to make him the speaker of the poem as he sees the “face” of the river. Within the reflection is him and his mother.
