H1N1

H1N1 Series – Acrylic Transfers on Wood panel 16×12

Yes, the swine flu. This series was based on a pop art project. We had to choose a person/event/figure/etc from current culture and represent it using color theory combinations [analogous, complementary, etc]. At first I thought of doing texting or something around those lines but it was pretty boring. So instead I illustrated a woman [since woman are more susceptible to the disease] morphing into a pig. The actual strain of H1N1 makes up the background. Representing sickness was fun since it isn’t supposed to be pretty. This was also the first time I tried transfers on wood panels rather than canvas – success.
